Bards Way residents and members of the wider community are keen to see the playpark remain in place so that it can be enjoyed for many years to come by everyone living in the local community.

Clackmannanshire Council has advised residents that responsibility for carrying out safety checks, maintenance, and replacing equipment now sits with the owner as they are no longer contracted to provide these services.

The Open Space Specification that is contained in the Section 75 Agreement obligates that:

  • Design: the design must meet recommended number and quality of items and requirements for different age groups
  • Surfacing: the surfacing must be adequate as defined
  • Protection: the play area must be protected from entry of dogs
  • Maintenance: weekly inspections should be carried out, worn/damaged parts should be replaced, litter should be removed, weeds should be controlled and the loose fill material should be topped up as requiresd.
